Ghorepani Poon Hill TrekkingThis is perhaps the most popular of all the short treks in Nepal and truly deserves its reputation .It is easy, it can be done most of the months, the facilities on the trail is well developed and above all it offers fascinating mountain views .The trek starts from Nayapul near Pokhara which is reachable after one and half  hour of lovely drive from Pokhara .Crossing the suspension bridge over the Modi Khola river, we ascend slowly through farm terraces and sparse mountain villages  and lush river valleys .Along the way we frequently encounter colourful mule caravans carrying supplies to the mountains. Brilliant white peaks of Machhapuchare and Annapurna peeking over the green ridges will greet us from time to time .One the second day we reach the Ghorepani pass .Early next morning we climb the nearby Poon hill for the best view of the mountains, breathtaking sunrise on a long range of Himalayan panorama .
